Hello, My name is DEXTER. I'm a sweet, sturdy little guy. I pack a lot of personality and muscle in my 26 lbs of power. . I'm very typical of my breed - I'm quite stubborn, affectionate, high energy (always ready to play, play, play) and strong-willed.  I can be "food protective" around other dogs and may even nip.  My breed is known for being quite frisky and slow to housetrain; I am not yet housetrained. My breed has potential health problems as we age due to our short faces. Also, my breed usually cannot swim so extra care must be taken if I am near a pool. I get along with some dogs but I get grumpy and growly when there's food and other dogs involved. I probably should not be around cats. Children would not work well with me as I am powerful and relentless when I want to play which could be misinterpreted by kids. My foster mom does not crate me so I'm not sure if I'm crate trained yet.  I love being with my human so much that I cry and bark when she leaves so a single-family home with someone who is not gone all day would be ideal. 
By far, my most outstanding characteristic is that I am super affectionate and love to endlessly play. I would do best in a home with an experienced Frenchie owner who can appreciate wonderful, true-to-the-breed me.
