Lucy’s Story:

Lucy is our well behaved,  house trained 3.5 year-old foster pup who came into our lives back in April. She’s a 45-pound terrier-mix, and an absolute lovey.   She also does tricks such as a sit, paw, down and spin.

During the first 24 hours of having Lucy, we were nervous that she wouldn’t adjust to us. She sat at the front door crying, and would get nervous when we’d try to approach her, which is understandable because her owners of 3.5 years had to give her up and she didn’t understand why (and frankly, neither do we).

After she arrived, we quickly realized that she was the sweetest girl who only wanted to be loved. It took a few days, or so, for her to start to come out of her shell, but boy did her personality shine. She initially gravitated towards the women in the house, but it did take her a bit of time to warm up to the male presence.

Lucy’s Favorites:

Miss Lucy Goosey is not only a lover of a lazy snooze, but she’s also a connoisseur of a long evening stroll, or even a run in the park. She plays well with other dogs, but she’s definitely more submissive.

Lucy is the biggest goof ball, which you’ll see when she gets excited and does her famous circle zoomies. She’s also a good eater who’ll gladly finish your leftovers when offered. Her adventurous food-palette is truly impressive.

Lucy is the best snuggle-buddy. She’ll hop in your bed and curl up in a ball to provide cuddles through the late hours of the night.

Lucy’s Dislikes:

Lucy is not a huge fan of loud noises such as garbage trucks and she can be a big scaredy-cat if you startle her.

Because she’s a creature of habit, she can be easily spooked by things she isn’t familiar with. For example, we just found out that she thinks inflatable Halloween decorations in the neighborhood are very scary!

To Lucy’s Forever Home:

There is something really special about Lucy. It’s hard to put into words because it’s just something that you have to experience. These past 6 months fostering Lucy have been nothing short of incredible, and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to love her as long as we did. She is our family’s first foster pet, and has been the light of our quarantine. She’s the sweetest, most amazing love bug, and anyone that gets the privilege to love her forever is beyond lucky. We’re heartbroken that she has to go, but we find comfort in knowing that she will have a beautiful life with her forever-family.
