Harry is an owner surrender as she did not have time to care for him any longer, and he has bladder issues. Harry needs to be let outside to conduct his business often. He is not the greatest fan of walking on a leash, but he woud rather be let out into the back yard where he can wonder around and pee freely. When he needs to go outside he comes to his person and barks to signal that he needs to go out. He does have some bladder issues and was told by the previous ownder that he made in the house, but the foster has said that he has had no accidents in her house. He is happy to meander in the back yard and come to the door when he is ready to come back inside the house.
Harry has some degenerative disc disease of his spine and this does cause him discomfort from time to time. He prefers the company of an older, perhaps another senior dog, and we feel that a puppy would not be the best option for a companion. A less active adult or low energy level mate would be best for Harry. His foster mom tells us that he gets nippy when a young dog or puppy tries to engage play with him. I would not recomend a family with small children for this reason.
