Neptune
Thank you for your e-mail. We have had âNeptuneâ for about a month now. Admittedly, we changed his name to HARLEY, which he has taken to quite fondly. The first two weeks had a few minor medical challenges. He came home with fleas, and so our first appointment with Pet Calls addressed them with Nexgard. He also had ear mites, treated with daily ear drops. Shortly thereafter, we noticed tapeworms in his stool, so he was treated with Droncit. In spite of those minor clinical irritants, he has a ferocious appetite, has gained about 3 pounds, and all issues have resolved.
Harley has adapted very well to his new home/family. Randi (our 5 year-old female boxer mix) has taken to him very well. She has become rather âmotherly;â they now snuggle in a single bed while Roger works during the day. They are best buds and they play with each other (almost to the point of exhaustion). Harley has brought out good things in Randiâ¦.Randi shares her toys, her bed, etc. â¦.and Randi is obviously more active now, and we think she is a bit happier now that she has a playmate.
Harley is a very smart puppy; a quick learner. He obeys some basic commands. We continue to crate train him, but he can be out of the crate nearly the entire day (with supervision); we essentially crate him at night and when we cannot supervise him (e.g., when we leave the house). So he is making great progress in housebreaking. It helps that he gets two long walks every day with Randi, and gets to go outside in the backyard another 4+ times/day. We learned quickly that lots of exercise makes a well-behaved puppy.
While he is rambunctious and full of energy as any puppy, he is extremely sweet and lovingâ¦.full of kisses. He can play independently, but loves to follow us around the house and be with us. He is a great joy, and a great addition to our family.
Thanks again for all of your help and for thinking of us. Promise to keep in touch.
Jessie
Hello,
I adopted Alfie and Jessie about a month ago and the two have been getting along great. While Alfie enjoys playing with anything cardboard, and Jessie loves anything dangling, it is easy to tell their favorite toy is each other. The two are insuperable, they are always wrestling with each other or snuggling with each other. They are also both complete love bugs and when I come home each day Jessie will meow constantly and Alfie will jump into my lap the first chance he gets. I have really enjoyed having them and Justin Bartlett did a fantastic job of finding the right people to take care of them and their mother when they were first born.
Thank you for all your hard work,
Joshua Davis

Rambo
Hi Kathy,
Rambo is now called Ralph. He has adjusted wonderfully to his new home! He has so much puppy energy so he goes to the park 2 times a day so he can run around, he's great at playing fetch. He's about 9-10 pounds now, and so cute. He goes to puppy class every Saturday, and he is learning how to sit, stay and all of that fun stuff. He had his first trip to the beach last week and loved it, although he still hates bath time. He loves meeting and playing with dogs, even though he still thinks he is bigger than everyone. He's almost house trained, and he is completely crate trained. So far so good!
Thanks for following up! He's doing great,
Carly
Cutie
Good morning Kathy,
Just wanted to send a quick update on "Cutie". First off she received a new name after her adoption. She is now Fern Harmon. :) As much as the cats were a little pessimistic upon her arrival they are all acclimating well! She is eating and playing and chasing birds in the backyard. The kids adore her and are trying to teach her to fetch a ball. So far she can fetch, but bringing it back is still a work in progress. We are still working on potty training, but it is getting better.
She has just been a wonderful addition to our family. We feel very lucky to have her.
Thank you for all the work you do!!
