Lady
Lady

Hi Kathy! Gavin and I wanted to write to let everyone know how much we love and adore Lady. Although we have been fostering dogs for years we knew there was something extra special about this very scared little pot cake. When she first arrived, she wouldn't allow either of us to touch her and would run in the opposite direction. We had to be patient with her- taking it extra slow with treats and quiet love and it has more than paid off! We knew that Lady had to be a part of our permanent family when our other dog Canela fell just as much in love with her as we had. Originally listed as a "must be the only dog in the house" dog, she was usually not the most welcoming host for our fosters. But with Lady it just clicked and they have become the best of friends. Our dogs are not just pets for us, they are our family. We feel extremely lucky to have Lady in our lives and will forever be grateful to Justin Bartlett for not only rescuing her but allowing us to foster and eventually adopt her. She makes us smile every single day and is the perfect addition to our home. Thank you, Beth & Gavin Hirsch

Jupiter
Jupiter

Hi! We can't believe that we have already had Jupes for almost a month! He is a great cat. Jupiter is doing well. He is adjusting to his new home. He has made friends with our other two cats, Jefferson and George. He loves being on the lanai. Jupiter likes to look at the ducks and ibises as they pass by. He is very playful. He plays with the other cats. When Jefferson and George do not want to play, he will chase his tail. Jupiter is a very happy lap cat. He enjoys napping on our laps. When we have guests, he has even napped on their shoulders. We love him dearly and feel very grateful to have him as a member of our family. Patti and Joe

Jack

Thanks for contacting me regarding my boy Jack. He is doing really well and growing. We have had issues with potty accidents inside but he is getting much better. He is absolutely the most handsome boy with the best personality... Very carefree and happy. Thank you for the opportunity to share my life with him. --

Becky

Bebe (aka Becky, Becky Boots) is completely acclimated to her new home and surroundings. She loves to explore the neighborhood looking for lizards and squirrels and has met several of the other dogs here and gets along fine with them all. Bebe loves to play with every dog she meets and has been especially kind to my friend's dog, Rosie, who is older, blind and deaf. Bebe approaches Rosie very gently and gives her a kiss and somehow knows that Rosie cannot play like the others do. She is cautious with people, but will greet those more easily if they have a dog with them - a treat works pretty well, also! Bebe likes to visit her BFF, Mandy, and they play the whole time and make us mom's laugh at their antics. I have attached two pictures of her and her pal. The one with Santa was scanned, sorry I can't figure out how to crop it. Bebe is very smart, affectionate and loves to cuddle. She has claimed 90% of the sofa and decided the first night that she prefers to sleep with me. She does just fine by herself on the days I am at work and amuses herself with her toys and naps on the sofa. After losing my boy, Griffin, in June, I decided I'd wait until next year to get another companion. I looked at hundreds of little dogs needing homes and when I saw "Becky" I knew she was the one for me now. She has brought great joy to my life and I'm thankful that we found each other. I can't imagine waking up each day without her. I hope all her pups are loved as much as she is. At the first vet visit, Bebe had hookworms and that was successfully treated and she is now on Advantage Multi. I also changed her food - she is doing just great with Blue Buffalo for small breeds. My thanks to all at JBAR for all you do for abandoned animals and to Deana for spending an entire morning travelling in the rain so that Bebe an I could start our adventure together. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All Sincerely, Sheila Evans

Frosty

Hi Kathy, I wanted to wait until I had some pics to go with my email. We began fostering Frosty, but he captured our hearts immediately. My son Logan (age 7) had a very long Christmas list for Santa, but on the way to see Santa decided that he didn’t want to give him the list. He decided he only wanted one thing on his list and that was to adopt Frosty. Santa had a great talk with him about the responsibilities of owning a dog. Christmas morning Santa left an amazing letter and great surprise for us! This little puppy is just amazing in our eyes and it feels like he has been a part of our family forever. Thank you so much to everyone over at Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue for helping to bring him into our lives!
