Amie

HI Kathy THank you for your email. Amie is doing as well as can be now that her severe urinary tract infection has been cleared up when she first came here. She is getting daily medication for her seizures since she has had a few. The Vet doesn't know why she has them but they are quite severe and I am sure that was the main reason as to why she was abandoned. After a seizure it is almost like she doesn't recognize her environment or anyone and goes around re-exploring the area and yard like she has never been there before. I am still working on her getting to know her name but no reaction. Happily since she has been having her seizure medication she has finally ventured around and doesn't only stay 80% on her pillow. She still doesn't interact with my other dog but my kids love petting her and leading her around. She also loves her beach outings! I have attached a picture after I had her trimmed down and I am happy that she is slowly warming up to us. Regards Nina Dormans

Wrangler

Hello, In response to your follow up email regarding Wrangler who is now named Baxter, he is doing great!!! He loves his new Aussie sister Mia and they play and run and just have an amazing time, see the attached photos. He is super loveable and as you can imagine already very (aussie) smart. I do want to mention to you that I found a tiny tick on him the day of his arrival, which we promptly removed. However we are now experiencing more and we are currently undergoing a vet prescribed treatment and a home and yard treatment. He is well, but I wanted you to know so you can contact any of the other adoption parents just incase his brothers and sister may have had any on them. We were wondering if all of his brother and sister are adopted, I have a few friends that have asked me :) Thanks for helping the precious animals, the world is a better place because of people like you!! Best Regards, Rebecca

Kahn

He is adjusting well. He now knows how to sit on command and before his meal. He also is learning to jump up into our arms. He likes to burrow at nite under covers. He is very unpredictable w stangers-he either likes them or not. He sometimes goes allot n shows aggression in which we are attempting to teach a "quit" command....my other blind dog and him have adjusted well....pic to follow

Molly

Big love in such a little dog. She breaks all the Chihuahua stereotypes. She's my Siamese twin and i can't imagine a day without her. I am the lucky one! Sent via my Samsung Galaxy Prevail from Boost Mobile

Rexx
Rexx

Hi Kathy, Rexx is doing good. He is definitely a puppy! He loves to play play play. He has learned sit and give the paw since being with us. And we have him very well trained on return commands (treats in our pockets for the first 2 weeks we had him worked well on that :D ) He also loves to fetch ball time after time after time. Rexx does not do too well with strangers outdoors or busy environments, busy roads etc. We knew this going in but we felt that he shouldnt get left without a forever home because of these little issues. We plan to try our best to socialize him more and more but we also know that it may not be a quick process and we have plenty of time to help him adjust. We already have had a doggy park date with two other dachshunds (Rexx is part dachshund) and we plan to do that every couple of weeks or so and develop from there. We have also looked at basic training classes maybe some time in the near future. I also got a thundershirt for him for his walks so those scary cars don't frighten him so much :) Rexx is a very loving dog, he is ecstatic every morning to get on the bed with us and cuddle and kiss us with his new sister. Rexx and Lulu had no problems getting to know each other and love each other. Lulu let him know she is Miss boss from the start and they have continued on as such (which is a good thing, because he eyes her food up but luckily she can sort him out if he thinks hes going to steal any (she has bladder problems so she is on special food)). i also think it is good for Rexx to have another dog who pipes him down a little. If he begs for food too much or barks Lulu nudges him and teaches him that he cant be doing that :) Lulu had to have surgery recently and was away for a few days. Since she has been back they are so cute together. Rolling around on a blanket tussling or playing tug together. All in all we know Rexx is not the easiest dog you have adopted out but he is worth the work tenfold for us and for Lulu to have a friend. Thank you all. I will forward you a seperate email with a few pics and a vid.
